I missed three months of school during the filming in 1968 and got to take my whole class to the premiere of the film downtown Tokyo with the spotlights and hoopla of any movie premier. I was driven in a chauffeured vehicle from my home to the set each day and sometimes had a tutor in the car to go over my missed school lessons. This was a great journey that I will always remember, as filming it was so fun, but watching it was also a great experience.
